HasbunaLlah Masjid – Solar Power Installation

Location: Okeodo, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria

Background

HasbunaLlah Masjid serves as an important centre for worship, Islamic learning and community gatherings in Okeodo, Ilorin. Local residents regularly come together for daily prayers, Qur’an lessons and religious activities.

However, unreliable electricity supplies made it increasingly difficult to maintain a comfortable and welcoming environment for worshippers. Frequent power interruptions affected essential facilities, particularly lighting and ventilation, making conditions challenging during evening prayers, Ramadan and Islamic classes.

The Need

A reliable electricity supply is essential for a masjid to provide a comfortable environment for worship, learning and community activities. With frequent power cuts disrupting daily activities, the masjid needed a dependable and sustainable alternative to ensure worshippers could continue their religious activities without interruption.

A solar power system offered a practical long-term solution, reducing reliance on the inconsistent local electricity supply while providing a more reliable source of energy.

Our Contribution

Ibrahim Trust funded and delivered 100% of this project, covering the complete installation of a solar power system from start to finish.

The installation included solar panels, battery storage and the necessary electrical infrastructure, providing HasbunaLlah Masjid with a dependable and sustainable source of electricity.

The Outcome

Alhamdulillah, HasbunaLlah Masjid now benefits from a more reliable and sustainable electricity supply, helping to create a comfortable environment for daily prayers, Qur’an lessons, evening worship and community gatherings.

Improved lighting and ventilation have enhanced conditions for worshippers, allowing religious activities to continue with greater convenience and fewer disruptions caused by power interruptions.

The solar installation has also reduced the masjid’s dependence on the local electricity supply, providing a practical long-term solution that will continue to benefit the congregation and wider community for years to come.

More than simply providing electricity, this project represents an investment in a place of worship and learning, supporting the community’s religious activities and creating lasting benefits for those who gather there.

We are sincerely grateful to our donors whose generosity made this project possible. May Allah reward them abundantly and make every prayer, lesson and act of worship supported by this installation a source of ongoing reward and Sadaqah Jariyah for them. Ameen.
