Bringing Light and Water – Masjid Oke Odo Close, Nigeria
Masjid Oke Odo Close – Solar System and Water Well Project Location: Oke Odo Close, Apete, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria…

Location: Okeodo, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria
Masjids are at the heart of community life, providing a place for worship, Islamic learning and bringing people together. In Okeodo, Masjid Bukhoriyy serves as an important gathering place for local worshippers, but unreliable electricity was making it difficult to maintain a comfortable environment for daily prayers and community activities.
Limited power affected essential facilities, including lighting and ventilation. This was particularly challenging during evening prayers, Qur’an classes and gatherings throughout the blessed month of Ramadan. A dependable and sustainable electricity supply was needed to improve conditions for worshippers.
With the support of generous donors, Ibrahim Trust supported the installation of a new solar power system at Masjid Bukhoriyy. The installation included:
The system was designed to provide a more reliable source of electricity for the masjid’s essential facilities.
Alhamdulillah, Masjid Bukhoriyy now benefits from a sustainable source of electricity, providing improved lighting and ventilation for worshippers. The new system creates a brighter and more comfortable environment for daily prayers, Islamic learning and community gatherings, particularly during evening programmes and warmer weather.
This improvement will continue to support the masjid’s role as a centre of worship and community life, benefiting all those who use its facilities.
