Masjid Oke Odo Close – Solar System and Water Well Project Location: Oke Odo Close, Apete, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria…

Location: Kani Kunda Village, The Gambia
Kani Kunda Village is a rural community where faith, family and mutual support play an important role in everyday life. However, some households face financial hardship and struggle to meet their essential daily needs, particularly during challenging periods.
During the blessed month of Ramadan, these difficulties can become even more pronounced, as families face the additional responsibility of preparing meals for iftar while managing limited household resources.
Recognising the importance of supporting vulnerable members of the community during this special month, Ibrahim Trust supported an initiative combining zakat distribution with the provision of food for iftar.
Ramadan is a time of reflection, worship and generosity, but for families experiencing financial hardship, providing sufficient food and meeting everyday household expenses can be a significant challenge.
There was a clear need to support eligible individuals and families through zakat, helping them afford essential items and manage their daily responsibilities.
Alongside financial assistance, access to food for iftar was equally important, ensuring that vulnerable families could break their fast with a nourishing meal and observe Ramadan with greater comfort and peace of mind.
With the generosity of our donors, Ibrahim Trust supported a Ramadan initiative in Kani Kunda Village, providing two forms of assistance to the local community.
Zakat distribution: Financial assistance was distributed directly to eligible individuals and vulnerable families, helping them meet essential household expenses and purchase everyday necessities.
Iftar food provision: Food was provided to support families with their evening meals, ensuring they had provisions to break their fast during Ramadan.
Together, these contributions helped address both the financial and nutritional needs of vulnerable households during the blessed month.
Alhamdulillah, the initiative provided meaningful support to vulnerable families across Kani Kunda Village, helping ease financial pressures and ensuring access to food during Ramadan.
The zakat distribution gave families greater flexibility to purchase essential items, while the iftar food provision helped ensure that households had food available to break their fast at the end of each day.
Beyond meeting immediate needs, the project helped strengthen the spirit of compassion, generosity and community solidarity that lies at the heart of Ramadan.
Families were able to observe the blessed month with greater reassurance, focusing on their عبادah, worship and time with loved ones rather than worrying about how they would meet their essential needs.
More than simply providing financial assistance and food, this initiative reflects the importance of standing alongside vulnerable communities and ensuring that the blessings of Ramadan are shared with those who need support most.
We are sincerely grateful to our donors whose generosity made this project possible. May Allah accept their zakat, reward their generosity, place barakah in their wealth and make every meal shared and every act of kindness a source of immense reward. Ameen.
