Masjid Sohaba – Solar Power, Sound System and Storage Facility Location: Oke Odo, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria Background A masjid…

Location: Oke Odo Close, Apete, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria
For many families in the community around Masjid Oke Odo Close, access to two everyday essentials – electricity and water – has been a persistent challenge. With rising living costs adding to the pressure on households, limited water supplies and unreliable electricity have made daily life increasingly difficult. The masjid also lacked the facilities needed to better support its congregation and the wider community.
Reliable electricity and access to clean water are essential for everyday life. The masjid needed improved facilities to support its daily activities, while the wider community needed a more accessible and dependable source of water.
Ibrahim Trust funded and delivered 100% of this project, covering the work from start to finish. This included the installation of a new solar power system at the masjid and the construction of a new water well to serve the surrounding community.
The new solar system provides a more reliable source of electricity, improving the masjid’s facilities and supporting its daily activities. The newly constructed water well offers the community an important local water source, helping to ease the difficulties caused by water shortages.
Together, these improvements provide practical, lasting support for the masjid and the people it serves, addressing two essential needs within the community.
We are sincerely grateful to our donors whose generosity made this project possible. May Allah reward them abundantly and make these facilities a continuing source of benefit and Sadaqah Jariyah. Ameen.
