Community Tube Well Project – Village Zakhi Qabristan

Location: Village Zakhi Qabristan, Union Council Kurvi, Tehsil Pabbi, District Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan

Background

For families living in Village Zakhi Qabristan, access to a reliable water supply had long been a daily challenge. Without a nearby water source, three neighbouring families often had to depend on distant pumps or shared wells to meet their everyday needs.

Water was essential for drinking, cooking, washing and maintaining good household hygiene. Having to regularly travel to collect water made these basic activities more difficult and time-consuming, placing an additional burden on the families.

The Need

A dependable source of water was needed to make daily life easier for the local families and provide a more sustainable solution to their water challenges. A shared tube well would give the households convenient access to water within the village, reducing the need to travel long distances to collect it.

Our Contribution

Recognising this need, Ibrahim Trust supported the installation of a community tube well in Village Zakhi Qabristan.

Work involved identifying a suitable location that could serve the neighbouring households, drilling to reach an underground water source and installing a hand pump to provide convenient access to water whenever required.

The project was successfully completed in September 2021, providing three families with a shared water source close to their homes.

The Outcome

Alhamdulillah, the completed tube well now provides a reliable source of water for three families living in Village Zakhi Qabristan.

Families can collect water within their local area rather than travelling long distances, making everyday activities such as drinking, cooking and maintaining household hygiene easier and more manageable.

Although the project serves three households, its impact is felt every day. Having a dependable water supply reduces the time and effort spent collecting water and supports the health, hygiene and wellbeing of everyone who relies on it.

Through the generosity of donors, these families now benefit from an essential resource that will continue to make daily life easier for years to come. May Allah reward everyone who contributed and make this project a source of ongoing Sadaqah Jariyah. Ameen.
