Tube well – Pulwama, Kashmir

Household Tube Well Project – Sanzwatri

Location: Sanzwatri, Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir, India

Background

For one family living in Sanzwatri, access to a reliable water supply had long been a daily challenge. Without a dedicated water source close to their home, family members often had to travel to distant or unreliable sources to collect water.

Water was essential for everyday needs, including drinking, cooking, washing and maintaining good hygiene. Collecting enough water required considerable time and effort, making daily household routines more difficult.

The Need

A dependable source of water was needed to make everyday life easier for the family and provide a lasting solution to their water challenges. Installing a tube well with a hand pump would give the household convenient access to water close to home, reducing the time and effort spent travelling to collect it.

Our Contribution

Recognising this need, Ibrahim Trust supported the installation of a household tube well in Sanzwatri.

Work involved identifying a suitable location near the family’s home, drilling to reach an underground water source and installing a hand pump to provide convenient access to water whenever required.

The project was successfully completed in September 2022, giving the family a dedicated water source close to their home.

The Outcome

Alhamdulillah, the completed tube well now provides the family with a reliable source of water at their home.

Family members can access water whenever needed, making everyday activities such as drinking, cooking and maintaining household hygiene easier and more manageable.

Although the project benefits one household, its impact is felt every day. Having a dependable water supply reduces the time and effort previously spent collecting water and supports the family’s health, hygiene and overall wellbeing.

Through the generosity of donors, this family in Sanzwatri now has access to an essential resource that will continue to make daily life easier for years to come. May Allah reward everyone who contributed and make this project a source of ongoing Sadaqah Jariyah. Ameen.
