Bringing Light and Water – Masjid Oke Odo Close, Nigeria
Masjid Oke Odo Close – Solar System and Water Well Project Location: Oke Odo Close, Apete, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria…

Location: Osun State, Nigeria
Masjids and Madrasah learning centres play an important role in supporting Islamic education and strengthening communities across Osun State. They provide spaces where men, women and children can come together to learn their deen, develop their understanding of Islam and build stronger connections with their faith.
However, discussions with local imams, teachers and community leaders highlighted a shortage of essential Islamic educational curriculum materials across many learning centres. Without access to appropriate resources, these centres faced difficulties delivering consistent Islamic education and supporting learners of different ages.
Recognising the importance of these institutions, Ibrahim Trust identified an opportunity to support Islamic education by helping provide the resources needed to strengthen teaching and learning within local communities.
Access to Islamic educational materials is essential for developing religious knowledge and supporting the continued teaching of Islam. Children need opportunities to learn the Qur’an and Islamic teachings, while adults also benefit from accessible resources to strengthen their understanding and practice of their faith.
Many Masjids and Madrasah learning centres across Osun State lacked the necessary curriculum materials to support their educational activities. There was a clear need to provide these resources, helping teachers deliver lessons more effectively and ensuring that learners could benefit from structured and accessible Islamic education.
The demand extended beyond the initial communities, with neighbouring areas also requesting assistance. This highlighted the wider need for support and the potential to create a lasting impact through investment in Islamic education.
Alhamdulillah, with the support of our generous donors and the assistance of our trusted local support partner, Ibrahim Trust supported the provision of essential Islamic educational curriculum materials to Masjids and Madrasah learning centres across Osun State.
The project was initially planned as a first phase supporting 15 learning centres. However, following the overwhelmingly positive response and growing demand from local communities, the initiative expanded into three phases.

Alhamdulillah, the project has helped strengthen Islamic education across numerous communities in Osun State, providing 75 Masjids and learning centres with essential materials to support their teaching activities.
Teachers and learners now have improved access to educational resources that help facilitate Islamic lessons, develop religious understanding and encourage continued learning among children and adults.
What began as a project intended to support just 15 centres grew into a much wider community initiative. The positive response from local leaders and the increasing demand for assistance demonstrated the importance of this work and the difference that accessible educational resources can make.
More than simply providing learning materials, this project represents an investment in knowledge, faith and future generations. Every lesson delivered, every student who develops a better understanding of Islam and every piece of beneficial knowledge shared has the potential to create an ongoing impact within the community.
We are sincerely grateful to our donors whose generosity helped make all three phases possible. May Allah reward them abundantly and make every lesson taught, every piece of knowledge gained and every person who benefits a source of continuous reward and Sadaqah Jariyah for them. Ameen.
