Tube well – Gundijaffer, Kashmir

Household Tube Well Project – Gundijaffer

Location: Gundijaffer, Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir, India

Background

For one family living in Gundijaffer, access to a reliable water supply had long been a daily challenge. Without a dedicated water source at their home, the family often had to collect water from surrounding areas for their everyday needs.

Water was essential for drinking, cooking, washing and maintaining household hygiene. Having to regularly collect water elsewhere required additional time and effort, making everyday routines more difficult.

The Need

A dependable source of water was needed to make daily life easier for the family and provide a more sustainable solution to their water challenges. Installing a tube well with a hand pump would give the household convenient access to water close to home, reducing the need to travel to collect it.

Our Contribution

Recognising this need, Ibrahim Trust supported the installation of a household tube well in Gundijaffer.

Work involved identifying a suitable location near the family’s home, drilling to reach an underground water source and installing a hand pump to provide convenient access to water whenever required.

The project was successfully completed in April 2022, giving the family a dedicated water source close to their home.

The Outcome

Alhamdulillah, the completed tube well now provides the family with a reliable source of water at their home.

The family can access water whenever needed, making everyday activities such as preparing meals, washing and maintaining household hygiene easier and more manageable.

Although the project benefits one household, its impact is felt every day. Having a dependable water supply supports the family’s health, comfort and overall wellbeing.

Through the generosity of donors, this family in Gundijaffer now has access to an essential resource that will continue to make everyday life easier for years to come. May Allah reward everyone who contributed and make this project a source of ongoing Sadaqah Jariyah. Ameen.
