Background

For families living in Sinchu Wurry Village, access to a reliable water supply had long been a daily challenge. Without a dependable water source within the village, residents often had to rely on distant wells or limited supplies that did not always meet the community’s needs.

Water was essential for everyday activities, including drinking, cooking, washing and maintaining good hygiene. Collecting water required additional time and effort, particularly for women and children who often carried responsibility for household water supplies.

The Need

A reliable source of water was needed to make daily life easier for local families and provide a sustainable solution for the village. A community well would give residents convenient access to water closer to home, reducing the time and effort spent collecting this essential resource.

Our Contribution

Recognising this need, Ibrahim Trust supported the construction of a community well in Sinchu Wurry Village.

Work involved identifying a suitable location and digging to reach an underground water source that could provide a dependable supply for the community.

The project was successfully completed in June 2023, providing the village with a shared water source for its residents.

The Outcome

Alhamdulillah, the completed well now provides a vital source of water for 101 people living in Sinchu Wurry Village.

Families can access water much closer to their homes, making everyday activities such as drinking, cooking and maintaining household hygiene easier and more manageable.

What was once a daily challenge has become a shared community resource, supporting the health, hygiene and wellbeing of local residents.

Through the generosity of donors, the people of Sinchu Wurry Village now benefit from improved access to an essential resource that will continue to support the community for years to come. May Allah reward everyone who contributed and make this project a source of ongoing Sadaqah Jariyah. Ameen.
